How to Store Raw Honey

Keep your honey ready for tea, toast, and baking, and learn what to do when it crystallizes.

Honey belongs in the pantry

Raw honey does not need much from you. Keep the lid on, store it at normal room temperature, and keep water out of the jar.

Crystallizing is normal

If honey gets cloudy or grainy, it has not gone bad. That is crystallization, and it happens to real honey. Set the closed jar in warm water and give it time.

Put it where you will use it

A jar hidden in the back of the cabinet gets forgotten. Keep honey near the coffee, tea, breakfast table, or baking shelf and it will work its way into the day.
